From Bismarck, N.D.: Archaeologists have made a significant discovery at the North Dakota Governor's Residence. Seven coffins containing human remains, along with another wooden box, were found on the property. The discovery was made after a monthslong investigation, which included inspecting over 80 flagged areas.

The findings date back to May 19, when contractors first uncovered remains and coffin hardware during excavation work. Construction was halted, and further investigation was conducted, including a radar scan and a dig that started on September 1.

Further details about the discovery are available, including the conclusion of fieldwork on September 14.
