A group called Restore Our Fairgrounds is gathering signatures for a petition that aims to change Nashville's charter. The proposed amendment would stop auto racing at the Nashville Fairgrounds.

Instead of racing, the group wants to see the space used for affordable or workforce housing, as well as traditional fair activities and events at the expo center and flea markets.
