From Capron, Ill.: A family farm has ended its pumpkin season early due to a significant theft. Thieves stole almost the entire field of pumpkins, which included only the regular orange variety. The farm had already harvested its specialty pumpkins.

As a result, the farm will no longer participate in the Boone County Farm Stroll's pumpkin picking event. The farm, which is in its first year, did not have crop insurance. Despite the setback, the owners plan to move forward and prepare for the next season.
