In South Central Tennessee, a large collection of school supplies has been packed for students. The effort aims to support a successful school year, which begins at the end of July and start of August for many in the Midstate. Dozens of community representatives and volunteers sorted and packed thousands of supplies.

United Way led the initiative, which will help offset the cost of basic school supplies for families. The cost for one student can be around $150. Further details about the distribution of supplies, which will be handled by UPS and other distributors, are available from United Way of South Central Tennessee.
